Turning paddy into white rice is a specialized and sensitive process that directly affects the quality of the final product, the amount of waste and the profitability of farmers and rice owners. Many people think that threshing is only limited to removing the paddy skin; While an industrial complex must carefully perform various steps such as cleaning, peeling, bleaching, separating healthy rice from half-grain, sorting, moisture control and packaging. Any incorrect setting of the devices or neglecting the condition of the paddy can increase the percentage of crushing and reduce the economic value of rice.
What is industrial printing services?
Industrial rice milling services are a set of specialized operations to transform harvested paddy into ready-to-use white rice. Paddy is actually a rice grain whose outer shell is not separated and usually after harvesting, it has dust, straw, pebbles, incomplete grains and variable humidity. Before the paddy enters the main machines, these impurities must be separated in order to avoid damage to the equipment and breaking the rice grains.
In traditional rice milling, part of the operation is done with old machines and limited settings. This issue can increase the percentage of crushing and reduce the quality of produced rice. On the other hand, industrial rice milling, using precise devices and mechanized lines, allows better control of pressure, speed, humidity and processing time. The main goal in this method is to increase the efficiency of rice conversion, reduce waste and produce rice with healthy grains and a uniform appearance.
Rice conversion with the lowest percentage of rice crushing
One of the most important criteria in choosing a rice milling center is the amount of rice crushing during paddy conversion. Healthy rice is more valuable than half-grain, and the higher the percentage of whole grains in the final product, the higher its quality and price. For this reason, converting paddy with the lowest percentage of rice crushing requires technical knowledge, appropriate equipment and compliance with processing principles.
In order to reduce the breakage of rice, the rice should be checked for moisture content. Very dry paddy is fragile against the pressure of the machine and the probability of its crushing increases. On the other hand, too much moisture can make the peeling and whitening process difficult. In a professional industrial rice mill, the humidity of the paddy is controlled before processing so that the grains enter the production line in the right conditions.
Adjusting the distance of the rollers, the speed of the seeds and the amount of pressure in the peeler is also very important. Too much pressure can cause the grain to crack or break, while too little pressure may leave the husk on part of the paddy. Experienced operators change the settings of the machine according to the type of rice, grain size, humidity and product conditions to get the best result.
Steps to convert paddy into white rice
Primary cleaning of paddy
The first step in industrial rice milling services is paddy cleaning. At this stage, straw, soil, gravel, dust, empty seeds and other extra materials are separated from the product. In addition to maintaining the quality of rice, careful cleaning prevents damage to the machines. The presence of stones or hard parts in the production line can damage the rollers and blades of the machine and increase the cost of repairs.
Humidity control and regulation
Moisture of paddy is one of the important factors in preventing rice breakage. Paddy must be in the proper humidity range before peeling. If needed, the product is dried by standard methods or rested for a certain period of time so that the moisture inside the grain is evenly distributed. This makes the rice grain more resistant to mechanical pressure.
Peeling paddy
At this stage, the hard outer shell is separated from the grain and a product called brown rice or whole grain rice is obtained. Peeling must be done carefully, because too much pressure or improper operation of the machine can cause the seeds to crack. In industrial rice milling services, the amount of husking is continuously controlled so that both the husks are separated well and the rice grain remains healthy.
Separation of paddy
After peeling, usually some of the seeds still have the shell. The paddy separator separates the unhusked grains from the brown rice and returns them to the production line for rehusking. Accurate separation of this part is very important, because the remaining paddy in the final product reduces the appearance and health quality of the rice.
Rice bleaching
In the bleaching stage, the bran layer is separated from the surface of the brown rice. The amount of bleaching should be adjusted according to the type of product and the customer's request. Excessive blanching can destroy part of the grain and increase the amount of breakage. Under-blanching may also cause bran to remain on the seeds and give a darker appearance. Professional industrial rice milling tries to create a balance between desirable appearance, maintaining nutritional quality and increasing healthy grains.
Separation of healthy and half-grain rice
After bleaching, whole grains, half grains, broken rice and small particles are separated from each other. This step is done using sieves and separating devices. Accurate separation makes the final product more uniform in terms of grain size and shape. Also, the customer can get healthy rice, half grain or a specific combination of them according to his needs.
Sorting and removing unwanted seeds
Sorting is one of the important steps in industrial printing services. In this process, yellow, black, chalky, discolored, damaged or impurity grains are separated from the rice. Sorted rice has a more attractive appearance and increases consumer confidence. For supply in stores, restaurants and professional packaging, the use of sorted rice can have a great impact on customer satisfaction.
Factors affecting the reduction of rice crushing
The basic quality of paddy
The quality of rice before entering the factory plays a big role in the final result. Paddy that has been damaged at harvest, has been exposed to excessive moisture or heat, or has internal cracks may have a higher percentage of breakage even with the best equipment. Choosing healthy rice and maintaining it properly is the first step to produce high-quality rice.
harvest time
Early or late harvesting can affect the grain structure. Immature seeds usually do not have proper moisture and strength and are more damaged in the process of rice conversion. Harvesting at the right time and quickly transferring the product to the drying place or storage will prevent internal cracks.
Basic drying
Fast and improper drying is one of the main reasons for the increase in rice breakage. Sudden changes in temperature cause stress within the grain and may cause invisible cracks. These cracks become complete fractures during peeling and bleaching. In industrial rice threshing, drying should be done gradually and according to the type of paddy.
Setting up devices
Each type of rice needs its own settings. Long-grain, short-grain, aromatic and local rices differ from each other in terms of size, shell thickness and fragility. Therefore, using a fixed setting for all products does not bring good results. The precise adjustment of the devices by the expert operator increases the percentage of healthy rice.
Processing speed
High production line speed does not always mean better performance. If the paddy enters the machine at an inappropriate speed, the mechanical pressure will increase and the grains will break more. In high-quality industrial rice milling services, the speed of the production line is coordinated with the type of product and the capacity of the machine so that the quality of rice does not sacrifice speed.

Advantages of industrial rice threshing for farmers
Farmers can increase the amount of healthy seeds and maintain the economic value of their product by using industrial rice threshing services. Basic processing makes rice with a better appearance and less broken percentage available in the market. This issue is very important during wholesale sales or branded packaging.
Also, industrial rice threshing provides the possibility of accurate separation of by-products such as bran, shell and half-grain. Each of these products can have a separate application and be used as animal feed, food industry raw materials or other uses. As a result, waste is reduced and the economic use of the product increases.
For farmers who intend to supply rice directly, cleanliness, uniformity and sorting of the product are very important. Rice that is well cleaned and sorted after converting paddy is more competitive in the market and can be presented to the consumer with higher confidence.
The importance of packaging after rice conversion
After the rice threshing process is finished, the storage and packing of rice should be done carefully. Rice should be stored in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight. Humidity, high heat and contact with fragrant substances can reduce the quality and aroma of rice.
Appropriate packaging prevents the entry of dust, insects and moisture. For professional supply, it is important to include information such as type of rice, weight, packaging date and storage conditions. Karimpur Rice Trading can prepare processed rice for wholesale or consumer supply according to market needs and customer type.
The difference between traditional and industrial rice cookery
Traditional threshing is still used in some areas, but usually has limited facilities for moisture control, sorting and precise separation of grains. In this method, it is more likely that healthy rice will be mixed with half-grain and impurities will remain. Also, the settings of the device may be the same for different types of rice.
In industrial rice milling, the rice conversion process is done step by step and it is possible to check the quality in each part. More modern devices provide more precise separation and better control of pressure and speed. The result of this process is more uniform, cleaner and less brittle brass, which is more valuable in the market.
